Back from Maternity Leave

I wanted to reach out with the news that I’m back from maternity leave. I agave birth to a baby girl, Liberty June Daflos, back in May. She’s our third child and first girl! Our family is over-the-moon and couldn’t love her any more.

I’ve been asked about her name a lot, and as our industry is such a wonderful – and worldly group, I thought I’d share the history here.

Liberty is named after her paternal great-grandmother who was born in Queens, New York, to Greek immigrants who came to the United States through Ellis Island. When they arrived, they said that the Statue of Liberty was the most beautiful sight they had ever seen. With that powerful memory forever in their minds, they chose to name their baby girl Liberty. My husband and  I knew if we were to have a little girl, this would be the name and now she’s here! We celebrate our new daughter and memorialize her grandmother who passed away just a month shy of her birth at the age of 100.

Thank you so much for the many warm wishes I’ve already received upon my return. I’m happy to be back and look forward to connecting with each of you very soon.
